Cardrona Alpine Ski Resort has extreme terrain for downhillers, Nordic skiers love Snow Farm high above Lake Wanaka, while powder skiers flock to the high vertical rises at Treble Cone Ski Field. Snow ParkNZ for board riders has opened midway between Queenstown and Wanka.
Winter Games NZ 2011 will be held 13-28 August in Queenstown and Wanaka. It is the biggest winter sports event outside the Winter Olympics, with 800 of the world’s top athletes competing in 26 snow sports, ranging from ski racing to curling, snowboarding to skating. Be there!
